What is a sign post in reading Notice and Note signposts are particularly noticeable points in a text that stand out as a significant moment in the story. Why is again and again signpost important? Definition: When the author author uses words or phrases students recognize they don’t know. What are CONTRASTS and CONTRADICTIONS? I created this book world signpost a few years ago. They point (quite literally) to the wonderful worlds that can only be accessed within the pages of a book. Literary Signposts are a wonderful addition to any classroom, bedroom or library.
